Physical Shares

Dematerialise paper certificates into a tradable holding

Physical share certificates can no longer be transferred. We verify, correct and dematerialise them so the holding becomes liquid again.

Physical Shares

Since SEBI barred the transfer of securities in physical form, a paper certificate is effectively frozen: it can be held, but not sold or gifted, until it is dematerialised. Old certificates commonly carry a name spelling, signature or address that no longer matches the registrar record, which stops the demat request.

Finvora reconciles the certificate against the folio, corrects the mismatches through the registrar, and pushes the dematerialisation request through your depository participant to credit.

No. Transfer in physical form is not permitted. The certificate must be dematerialised first, after which the holding trades normally.

Usually not. Merged and renamed companies almost always have a share exchange entitlement. We trace the corporate history and claim the successor shares.

Client stories

What clients say about this service

“Certificates in my maiden name, an address three moves ago, and a signature that had changed. Finvora corrected all of it with the registrar and completed the demat. I had assumed the holding was effectively dead.”
